The story behind the painting
This painting depicts a dramatic and emotional scene by the sea, where a woman stands on a sandy beach, facing away from the viewer. Her blonde hair blows powerfully in the wind, creating a sense of movement and energy. The woman is dressed in a long, dark green coat that elegantly swirls around her in the breeze. Her posture, with steady shoulders and her gaze fixed on the horizon, conveys a sense of strength and independence.
The background is dominated by a majestic coastal landscape with a stormy sea and dramatic clouds stretching across the sky. The bold brushstrokes and intense shades of blue and white in the sky create a dynamic contrast to the warmer tones of the sand and the green of her coat. The waves of the sea roll toward the shore, painted in various shades of blue and white, evoking a vivid and realistic impression of nature’s power.
Despite the intense wind and wild sea, the scene feels calm and meditative. The woman seems unwavering, as if drawing strength from the surrounding elements. The light in the painting, breaking through the clouds and illuminating her hair and the beach, enhances the sense of hope and optimism despite the stormy weather.
It is an image of both physical and emotional strength, where the woman’s sensual beauty is balanced with her inner resolve and determination. She is a part of the landscape, as strong and free as the sea and wind surrounding her.
About the painting
It was a weekend trip to the sea. Autumn with a last breath of summer left in the air. She was so beautiful and feminine but in a strong way. She stood there, looking out over the sea and defying the wind. A couple of months later I still couldn’t let this opportunity go. I had to immortalize it on canvas.
It is painted with acrylic paint on cotton canvas.
